POSITION SPECIFICS
The School of Hospitality Management in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking an Academic Adviser. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively with students in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Assess student needs and provide academic advice; advise students in course selection, scheduling, and other academic matters; monitor academic progress; assist in resolving academic issues; make referrals as needed; maintain and ensure confidentiality of student records
Assist with coordinating designated student group testing, consulting, and advising program/services
Prepare and disseminate information to a variety of audiences
Coordinate and participate in recruitment and retention activities; conduct meetings for prospective students/families, high school counselors, and University staff
Serve as liaison between students, faculty, staff, campus and University constituents
May evaluate academic advising services; as instructed, propose, update, or develop programs/improvements
May serve as mentor to other academic advising staff; coordinate training and development
May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Master's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
